We were commissioned by Stoke-on-Trent City Council to carry out various roof repairs on Stoke Town Hall

Works carried out:

We supplied and installed 50 replacement natural slates to match the existing in size and style to various locations across the Jubilee roof, secured with copper tabs.

Removed the 2 rear left hand side corner glazing panes, then supplied and installed new 6mm Georgian wired glazing units to match the existing.

Stripped the rear left hand side corner of the lead sheet which adjoins the apex of the roof light lead covering and replaced with new code 6 lead.

Repaired 42 external bosses to the lead sheet flat roof area where split, cracked and lifted to ensure water tightness.

Supplied and installed a horizontal latch way fall arrest system secured to the main two chimney stacks.

Raked out mortar coursing, re-pointed chimneystacks, removed chimney pots, reset all chimney pots and / or mortar flaunching with new hydraulic lime mortar.

Hacked off the blown cement render finish to all the chimney stacks and repaired with two coats of lime render finish.

Removed the felt coverings to capped chimney stacks and supplied and installed new built up roofing felt.

Supplied and applied water based micaceous iron oxide based undercoat and top coat finish to the metal extract flues.
