MIPIM Tennis – The Tim Henman Foundation

We’re excited to once again be heading to MIPIM and, as is tradition at High Access, (part of the NSS Group)  entering the MIPIM Tennis tournament.

Each year we join forces with the great and good of the property industry to raise funds for some fantastic charities. This year the tournament has selected four brilliant causes and, by way of celebrating their fantastic work, we’ll be shining the spotlight on each of them and reminding ourselves why, amid the madness of MIPIM, we set aside an afternoon to don our tennis whites.

This week we’re looking at The Tim Henman Foundation

For the first time ever, former British No.1, Tim Henman, will be competing in the MIPIM Tennis tournament, with his foundation benefiting from funds raised.

Tim said: “I’m delighted to be supporting the 2019 MIPIM Tennis Classic. It’s an event that’s been growing fast over the past few years, raising lots of money in the process. I’m hoping we can continue to build on that success this time around.

“These types of event are a great way of getting together to enjoy a few hours of tennis, while trying to help change the lives of those less fortunate.”

The Tim Henman Foundation delivers programmes to better the lives of vulnerable young people, focusing on education and health. They aim to raise young people’s aspirations through access to new skills and opportunities, along with the best, most sympathetic learning environment.

The foundation has three core strands to achieve this:

  • The THF Scholarships Programme
Working with approved partner organisations, the foundation funds scholarships. In the past it has supported Autism Speaks, Right to Play, Tennis First and Reed’s School Foundation.
  • The THF “Make it Happen” Hospice Programme
Partnered with Naomi House and Jack’s Place Hospice, near Winchester, the “Make it Happen” Hospice Programme addresses a number of issues from further education to independent living and healthcare. The programme, which will be rolled out nationally, will support young people who are life-limited and life threatened.
  • The THF Outreach Programme
Working with education and charity partners, the Foundation is delivering outreach programmes that raise young people’s aspirations and self-esteem. The programmes focus on music and the arts, science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and sport.
